Research Experience:

Indiana University:

Research assistant for Dr. William Timberlake:  Observational  and
socio-behavioral studies with rodents and elephant shrews, olfactory
communication  in rodents (1978-1980).

Research assistant for Dr. Michael Peterson: Primate  psychophysics
laboratory: training and long-term testing of  monkey species on 
psychoacoustic tasks  (1979-1983).

Undergraduate research supervisor; primate psychophysics laboratory
(1981-1984).

Undergraduate research coordinator; comparative psychology laboratory 
class (1982, 1983).
     
Dissertation:  Psychoacoustic studies of Japanese monkeys: designed to  
study how the species' auditory  perception shapes their use of acoustic
design features in communication.
