Scholarship Portfolio

Incoming first-year students are eligible for scholarships in amounts up to $2500.

The portfolio should contain the student's best work; reflect a range of abilities, interests, and concepts, demonstrate skill in a variety of media, and demonstrate an ability to draw from real objects.

The student may submit original work, 35 mm slides or a CD-ROM at the time of the interview.

CD-ROM:
CD-ROMS should contain 6-8 images, 300 dpi resolution with a maximum dimension of 5” for each image. All applicants must complete the departmental questionnaire prior to the interview. The CD-ROM must be accompanied by printed list including the applicant's name, title of work (or name of project, if any), date, medium, and dimensions (height x width).

SLIDES:
Each slide must be labeled with the applicant's name, title of work (or name of project, if any), date, medium, and dimensions (height x width). The topof the work must be specified with an arrow. Slides must be placed in 8.5 x11 inch plastic sleeves.

Portfolios will be reviewed on Fine Arts Day in February. The student will be notified of the decision of the review committee approximately two weeks after his/her portfolio review. Students who cannot attend Fine arts Day in February should submit their materials prior to February 1, 2011.
