The 1912 Gallery
Emory & Henry College sponsors temporary exhibits by emerging and nationally acclaimed artists who work from a variety of philosophical perspectives. These visiting artists actively interact with art students during their campus visits, which also include a major lecture delivered as part of the college's LYCEUM program. The rotating schedule features three artists each semester. Jerry Uelsmann, Jack Beal, Virginia Scotchie, Cora Cohen, Richard Jolley, Tom Nakashima, Jennifer Pepper, Anne Austin Pearce, Cort Savage, Barbara Tisserat, James McGarrell, Willie Anne Wright, and Jake Berthot have served as visting artists. The gallery has also featured work by Harvey Littleton, Janet Fish, Dale Chihuly, and Sally Mann. Gallery Programs are open free of charge to the campus community and the public.
